Frank's Music

If you're tired of hearing the same old pop crap on the radio these
days, why not spend a little time on the wild side. The new Smash
mouth CD may be just right up your alley. While relegating this group
to one particular music genre is a challenge at best, their sound has many
familiar overtones. Smash mouth gives you a major degree in heavy
rock with minor overtones in just about everything else. From the
60-ish funky sound of "Walking on the Sun" to the Reggae-like sound
of "Let's Rock", to the 50-'s sock hop sound of "The Fonz", there's something
for everyone.
Trying to imagine a mixture of all of these sounds plus a juicy twist
of headbanger thrown in on the same album is almost impossible without
hearing it. Take my word for it though, it works! What Smash mouth
delivers is a fresh sound that hasn't already been overplayed on every
pop station in the nation. If more talented musicians today dared
to be this different, we would have a much better crop of music to choose
from.
